It’s Juicy Wednesday again!
Hope everyone is having a lovely week so far, I hear it’s hot hot hot Stateside… aka perfect juicing weather!
Last week it was beets and this week I’m sharing a carrot based recipe. While green juices are currently taking over the world, I like to throw in a good root-based juice every now and then, and if you’re new to juicing, these are a little milder on the taste buds. Get those juicers ready:
Citrus Carrot Bliss
makes 2 servings
1-2 apples (I use 1, but if they’re small or you like your juice a little sweeter, 2 is fine)
1 inch of ginger
½ tsp dried turmeric
½ tsp dried cinnamon
Clean and juice the carrots, apple and ginger. Peel, then juice the grapefruit and lemon. I’ve occasionally juiced with the rind on, but I find the flavor to be much nicer when the citrus fruits are peeled first. Add the cinnamon and turmeric to the juice, and use a whisk to thoroughly mix. Enjoy!
*Note: I know the turmeric thing is a little out there, but trust me it works with this juice. If you’re wary, feel free to omit, or reduce the amount. However, the health benefits associated with this spice are great and combined with the ginger and cinnamon, it really adds a lovely twist. Trust your green boot friend on this one 😉
